Acrylic on 8x8 board. I reached out to FB group Acrylic Painting for Every Level for some guidance on the horizon, as I was struggling. A lot of this was done with a toothbrush and smallish paint brush whose bristles I had chopped unevenly. &129335&127995&8205&9792&65039

This is a 5 x 7 acrylic on board, the majority done with a rubber kitchen spatula! At one point, I?d decided it had just gone too wrong, and I was gonna throw it out. I?m so glad I didn?t.

Title or Location: Follow the Light
Follow the Light is a 12 x 12 oil painting that conveys a message of strength and resilience. Much like a portrait artist approaches their subject, I treat the sunflower as an individual with its own story and presence. Through this piece, I aim to remind viewers that no matter what challenges life brings, we have the capacity to endure and always face the light, just like the sunflower. The inspiration for this painting came from the striking contrast between the dark, almost traumatic backg

Title or Location: Rainy day at the Cafe
I?m retired & decided I sh learn to really paint. This past summer I tried lots of genres. My granddaughter asked me to teach her how to paint, but with only seeing her for two days at Christmas time, it?s darn near impossible. When I saw those paint-by-number kits advertised, I ordered one for each of us (figuring it?d cut a lot of work & strategy out of the equation). Youngest son arrived for a visit & he worked on it too. Finished it on Friday. Granddaughter?s comment was, ?this is the best e

Title or Location: Authenticity
My art "Authenticity"This piece represents my journey of transformation ? a journey of becoming the truest and most authentic version of myself. It is about releasing limiting beliefs, breaking free from old patterns, and leaving behind the masks I once wore to fit expectations and seek acceptance. The act of removing the mask symbolizes letting go of the false identities that no longer serve me and embracing who I truly am.At its heart, this artwork carries a powerful message: be aut

Title or Location: My Favourite Toy
This is Marley, one of my loopy border collies. I managed to take the reference photo for this drawing in one of his quiet moments, while he was hugging his favourite toy and stopping his brother Bob from stealing it! It was a challenge drawing him on pastelmat as I'm not too experienced with it but quiete happy with how he came out! He's drawn in a mix of faber castel polychromos, caran d'ache luminance and some derwent drawing pencils.

Title or Location: Balnagask golf course
I loved this photograph from John Strachan photography and finally got around to painting it in acrylic. I tried to be quite loose with the painting as there was so much detail. in the end I thought the sky looked a bit bare so with the help of Chat GPT I added seagulls to the photo and was then able to paint them into my art work. This painting will be heading for the Aberdeen art show the end of August for sale.
